Urban Farmer Portland

Spent a my birthday at The Nines and decided to embark on a culinary adventure at the Urban Farmer for breakfast. Now, calling the vegan/gluten-free options "scarce" would be an understatement—I ended up having a hot date with a bowl of oatmeal. Meanwhile, my non-vegan husband, on a mission to conquer his morning hunger, found his soulmate in the form of eggs Benedict. It's safe to say that one of us left with a belly full of oats, and the other with dreams of poached perfection. Let's just say breakfast was an interesting dance of dietary choices, and oatmeal emerged as the surprising star of our morning saga at the Urban Farmer.

This is the best hotel breakfast I've had in a long time. We ate here two days in a row and enjoyed every bite. We ordered the egg breakfast sandwich, the chicken sandwich, the French toast and the big bowl of fruit, ALL FANTASTIC! I WISH I could've tried the blueberry pancakes. Our waiter was awesome and went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our meal. The seating is thoughtful and you aren't so close to people, the area is bright, open and airy.

This is a top notch extremely high quality eatery. We ordered the Beef Wellington for two. It’s presented by the chef and dished up table side, which was a fun experience. It came with delicious Brussel sprouts and the most delicious potatoes. Because this is seasonal until the end of the year we will definitely be back. The chef is a sauce maker extraordinaire and made a special and incredible sauce just for this meal. Don't be in a hurry. Just allow yourself plenty of time. We were going to a concert and had to rush out and the end. Don’t do that. Eat slowly and enjoy every bite. I promise you won’t stop thinking about this 5 star meal. Amazing. Bravo chef! Bravo!

I’ve been to the best steakhouses in 40 states and this is by far my favorite. The grass fed beef is exquisite and the ingredients for all dishes come from local farms. Our server Virginia was incredibly friendly and gave the best recommendations. We highly recommend the tenderloin and fingerling potato side dish. Do not skip this restaurant when visiting Portland.

This is a great spot for diner. The atmosphere is really nice. Oysters and steak tartare were spectacular. The complimentary cornbread is a nice touch and delicious as well. My date had the halibut, which was prepared perfectly. I ordered a grass fed NY strip medium rare. It was more medium than rare and it was good but not amazing. The roasted bone marrow was flavorful but not plentiful, as I’ve enjoyed at other restaurants. The mashed potatoes however, were ridiculously delicious. I’d definitely return for another meal as the entire experience was exceptional.

So good!! Highly recommend! Beautiful restaurant. Ann Dee was our server and she, and all other staff, were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food was incredible! We started with scallops. Then had wagyu, pork chop, and mushrooms to share. Then finished with seasonal ice cream and sorbet, berry and chocolate. Everything was so amazing. 10/10 :)

I can't imagine why there would be a complaint about this place. I had lunch her with a friend awhile ago & our server couldn't have been more pleasant, attentive and dotting on us. She was exceptionally patient as well. My friend had already been drinking before we arrived & didn't slow down even a little bit. Thus he became rather a nuisance and a huge embarrassment to me. But she was so kind & helpful to me in getting him re-directed & re-focused so I could get him out the door. All while still being a fabulous server & the food was absolutely fabulous. By far THE BEST Ham I've ever had in my entire life. Organically free range pigs that are fed only a specfic kind of sweet apples their whole life which is what makes the ham have the BEST TASTE EVER! The bartender was also, equally as great. This well made up for the prices being a bit higher, than what I was use to paying. I'd gladly pay it again, for THAT great quality food, atmosphere, and service! If you do go, don't miss out on the ham! 👌
